As part of the Mission's strategic efforts to deepen Ghana's economic diplomacy through the promotion of industrial partnerships and the exchange of best practices, Her Excellency Ms Theresa Adjei-Mensah, Ghana's Ambassador to the Czech Republic, led a high-level delegation on a working visit to Škoda Electric in Plzen on 30th January 2026.
The delegation included senior representatives of Ghana Pan-Afrique Airline, notably Dr Lawrence Awuku-Boateng, Executive Chairman, underscoring Ghana's strong public-private sector collaboration in advancing sustainable transport solutions.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for Škoda Electric in Plzen to establish an assembly plant in Ghana, while also supporting Ghana's agenda to expand the deployment of electric and hydrogen fuel-cell buses as part of its green transportation and energy transition strategy.
The delegation was received by the Chairman of the Board of Škoda Electric in Plzen, and discussions provided valuable insights into the company's wide range of bus manufacturing capabilities, advanced technologies, and decades of experience in electric public transport systems.
The Board Chairman expressed optimism about the prospects for collaboration and co-operation. He conveyed Skoda's interest in strengthening future cooperation with Ghanaian transport institutions, paving the way for potential partnerships that support sustainable mobility, technology transfer, and industrial development in Ghana.
